Auch Vasari äußert sich zum Wettstreit der Künste, dem Paragone. Abgesehen von dem Argument der Dauerhaftigkeit der Skulptur weicht die Passage aber deutlich ab, zumal sie Vasari auch an eine andere Stelle, das Proemio di tutta l’opera, setzt (vgl.
