Schweizer Maler, geb. 1591/1592 in Zürich, gest. 1648 in Frankfurt am Main, lernte in Zürich bei Gotth. Ringgli, ging dann in die Niederlande, wurde in Antwerpen von P. P. Rubens in dessen Atelier aufgenommen, später in Amsterdam tätig; vgl. Thieme-Becker, Bd. XVII, S. 281.
