Annotations
Wahrscheinlich konnte Valckenborch die 1563 entstandene Turmbau-Fassung von Bruegel in Antwerpen sehen, die ihm als Vorbild gedient haben dürfte (vgl. Wied 1990, S. 32). Bruegels Vorbild ist wohl nicht mehr erhalten, wird aber in einer Bürgschaftsliste des Antwerpener Kaufmanns Niclaes Jonghelinck von 1565 erwähnt.
