Wie Sandrart schreibt, befand sich das Gemälde höchstwahrscheinlich in Pembrokes Besitz in Baynard’s Castle on the Thomas, in dessen Inventar 1561/62 es beschrieben wird: »The picture of the Duches of Lorayne« (zit. nach Foister 2004, S. 266). Sollte es sich um dasselbe Bildnis handeln, das zuvor Arundel gehörte, so blieb es nicht lange in Pembrokes Besitz, denn im Inventar von Lord Lumley wird es 1590 eindeutig genannt: »The statuary of the Duchess of Myllayne, afterwards Duches of Lorreyn daughter to Christierne King of Denmarke doone by Haunce Holbyn« (zit. nach Foister 2004, S. 267).
