La descrizione di Sandrart corrisponde al dipinto di Bilbao e non alle altre redazioni note del tema (Berlino, Ottawa, Madrid, già Los Angeles). Anche G. Finaldi in Kat. London u. a. 1999 [Finaldi, Gabriele (Hrsg.): Orazio Gentileschi at the Court of Charles I, Katalog der Ausstellung in London/ Bilbao/ Madrid 1999, Bilbao 1999], p. 66, identifica il quadro menzionato da Sandrart con la tela di Bilbao.
