Das Territorium im Osten Pommerns gehörte mit kleinen Unterbrechungen zum Herzogtum Pommern, bis es 1637 an die polnische Krone fiel. Im Schwedisch-Polnischen Krieg 1657 wurde es dann von Brandenburg gewonnen, vgl. Territorien-Ploetz, S. 559.
