Der bei van Mander »Maistre Herry« genannte Lehrer Abraham Bloemaerts in Paris ist nicht weiter bekannt. Eine Identifzierung als Claude de Héry kann nicht überzeugen, da dieser als Goldschmied und Medailleur zwischen 1557 und 1582 aktiv war, während van Mander explizit von einem Maler spricht; vgl. Mander/Miedema 1994–99, Bd. VI, S. 90.
