Als Vorbild für die sich umarmenden Putten diente das Puttenpaar in Tizians Venusfest. Das Blatt ergänzt die Vorzeichnung für Tafel W der Iconologia Deorum, in der das Puttenpaar nur skizzenhaft erfasst ist. Als Vorlage könnte ein Stich oder eine frühere Zeichnung Sandrarts gedient haben, die sich jedoch nicht erhalten hat; s. Mazzetti di Pietralata 2011, S. 191, Kat.-Nr. 351.
