Wie schon Peltzer vermutete, handelt es sich hierbei möglicherweise um Kopien nach den Bildern in Franz von Mayers Kunstkammer. Er besaß eine »Morgenröhte«, sowie eine »Abendstund« von Lorrain (vgl. Teutsche Academie 1675/Viten (Ed. Peltzer 1925), S. 422, Anm. 1489).
