Ein ehemals in San Michele in Bosco befindliches Kruzifix von Guido Reni ist heute nicht mehr nachzuweisen. In zeitlicher Nähe zur Kapuziner-Kreuzigung, die sich zu Sandrarts Zeit laut seiner Aussage ebenfalls in Bologna befand, zeigt die Kreuzigung der Galleria Pallavicini eine ähnliche, wenn auch reduzierte, Komposition. Sie befand sich allerdings ab 1679 im Besitz des Kardinal Lazzaro Pallavicini in Rom. (Vgl. Pepper 1984, S. 237, Nr. 61)
