Sponsel erwähnt keine Vorlage für dieses Vitenporträt; vgl. Sponsel 1896, S. 156, Nr. 120 b). Auf einen Stich in Lampsonius »Effigies pictorum« als Vorlage für das Vitenporträt von Hubert van Eyck verwies Simonato 2010, S. 274 f. Laut Peltzer war das Porträt im Cod. icon. 366 die Vorzeichnung für das Vitenporträt, was Mazzetti di Pietralata jüngst bestätigen konnte; vgl. Peltzer 1925, S. 125, Nr. 48; Mazzetti di Pietralata 2011, S. 171, Kat.-Nr. 229.
