Laut Peltzer ist Sandrarts Porträtzeichnung Guercinos, die als Vorzeichnung für das Vitenporträt des Künstlers in der Teutschen Academie diente, auf das in Rötel gezeichnete Selbstporträt Guercinos im Cod. icon. 366 zurückzuführen, was jüngst von Simonato und Mazzetti di Pietralata bestätigt wurde; vgl. Peltzer 1925, S. 125, Nr. 45 u. S. 105; Simonato 2010, S. 277; Mazzetti di Pietralata 2011, S. 171, Kat.-Nr. 226.
